Developing Talent Workshop – Friday 17th June
Sport Wellington in association with WHiPA is excited to have Wayne Goldsmith in Wellington again to present a workshop targeting parents, athletes, coaches and teachers on the complexities of developing talent. This must attend workshop is a great opportunity to come and listen to Wayne Goldsmith Aquatics, a world renowned expert on developing talent.

WHiPA are thrilled to announced the recipients of the 2016 WHiPA Lloyd Morrison Pathway to Podium and Coach Performance Advance scholarships.
Three athletes will be part of the Wellington Pathway to Podium programme for a two year period. The programme is designed to educate and develop the athletes on the transition into the high performance environment. Congratulations:
- Rebecca Moynihan (Raumati Raptors Swimming Club) – Athlete Scholarship
- Ruby Heath (Swim Zone Racing) – Athlete Scholarship
- Chelsey Edwards (Swim Zone Racing) – Athlete Scholarship
Coach Walter Maxwell will be a part of the Wellington Performance Coach Advance programme. This programme supports a coach’s development in the needs of the performance environment and targets the soft skills associated to coaching.
Both of these programmes are part of Sport New Zealand's initiatives to support coaches and athletes in the requirements of the performance environment, and are administered through Sport Wellington.

Basketball New Zealand are delivering a Community Basketball Coaching Course at Paraparaumu College on Sunday May 29.
This course is aimed at Coaches wanting to, or who are already Coaching at Club Level, College Level or Representative Level. Cost is $45 per person which includes the 2x Two Hour Coaching Course and the Individual Assessment.
