Buggy Walks

The Buggy walks are held in conjunction with Sport Wellington Region and Greater Wellington Regional Council. The Buggy Walks are held on the first Thursday of every month, where we encourage new mums, dads, grandparents and caregivers with children under the age of five years to “Push Play” in environments where they can meet other new parents. The duration of the walks are approximately one hour.

Please visit our Buggy Walk Website for more information and photos.

Schools Stadium Festival Day

Over 600 year 5 & 6 students  participate in a fun day of physical activity at Wellingtons Westpac Stadium. The Stadium Sports Festival is an opportunity for children to try a variety of sports that they normally might not get to try. Sport Wellington Region organises the festival with the help of coaches from 20 different sports. The purpose of the day is to expose children to a variety of different sports in the hope that they will find a sport that they enjoy and become physically active in.

Sport Opportunity

Inclusive Events

The inclusion of disabled children in school and interschool events is important to the Sport Wellington education team.

Inclusion in mainstream sports not only offers disabled children a platform to develop sporting pathways but an opportunity to represent their school alongside their able bodied peers. Attendance at a Sport Wellington Get Set Go workshop will assist school staff and event organisers to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and confidence to successfully run inclusive school and interschool events.
