Sport Wellington provides funding and advice to access funding from various external sources. See the headings under the yellow boxes below. For information on KiwiSport Funding please click on the link or yellow button below. We host Fundraising and Gaming Trust workshops (industry info and application form filling) during the year. Keep an eye on the "Courses & Workshops" page or email info@sportwellington.org.nz and ask to receive our three weekly "Sport Connector" newsletter which will keep you informed of upcoming workshops.

Societies that make grants in the greater Wellington regionClick on the blue triangle of your area and you will receive a list of all of the societies that make grants for that area. Click on the triangle of that society and you will see where that society has gaming machines located. Make sure the society you are applying to has a machine in your area as the societies need to return funds to the local area. |

Sports Representatives FundThis fund provides assistance to Wellington residents who have been selected to represent NZ overseas. Individual grants are for $200. Applications are accepted at any time, subject to availability of funds. Applicants must reside in the Wellington rate paying area and have gone through a national selection process and been chosen to represent New Zealand overseas in a sporting or cultural activity. |

Sports Development GrantsTo help fund professional advice and support for enhancing the strategic management of sports and recreation organisations $50,000 in total is available annually. Grants will be allocated three times a year in July, October and March in line with the Council's general grant rounds. |

Sports Talent Development ProgrammeThe programme will fund talent development projects aligned to national or regional sports organisation development pathways. Funding of up to $15,000 annually per applicant will be managed by the Academy of Sport. It will be used for athlete and coach development in areas including strength and conditioning, mental skills, coaching workshops, personal development, and injury prevention and rehabilitation. |
