Wairarapa Maori Sports Award Categories

Junior Female Sportsperson
Open to any Female  who has excelled in one or more sports. Must be under 20 years of age at the time of their performance.

Junior Male Sportsperson
Open to and male who has excelled in one or more sports. Must be under 20 years of age at time of their performance.

Senior Female Sportsperson
Open to any female who has excelled in one or more sports’ Must be over 20 years of age at time of their performance.

Senior Male Sportsperson
Open to any male who has excelled in one or more sports. Must be over the age of 20 at time of their performance.

Coach
Outstanding performance by a coach.

Administrator
Significant contribution by a club, association or sports event administrator or manager.

Official
Outstanding performance by a referee, umpire or judge.

Service to Sport
Outstanding contribution to the operation of a club or sporting organization.

Club Performance
Outstanding performance by a club.

Team
Outstanding performance by a team of two or more persons.

Sportsperson of the year
The Sports person of the year  will be selected from winners of the Junior and Senior Sports person awards.

Nomination criteria and conditions of entry

• Performance by nominees will only be considered during the qualifying period 1st of October 2007 to 30th September 2008.
• The committee has developed a robust selection criteria but as a guide nominees should be commonly acknowledged as a Wairarapa Maori Sports Person/s
• Nominations will be accepted from all in  the community.
• The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• Nominations net yet open for 2008
