Great work by Nick Willis from Lower Hutt making up a number of places over the closing stages of the World Champs 1500m race, finishing eighth in 3:36.82. Nick was happy to be placed eighth in the world after surgery and just ten weeks training. We look forward to seeing him compete in the Commonwealth Games, Queensland, Australia in April next year!

Congratulations to Libby Leikis! One of our Wellington Pathway to Podium athletes at the Word Para Athletics Junior Champs, Libby ran a personal best and a New Zealand record! Running in the under 20 grade, T37 200m, Libby's time of 32.54 seconds broke the NZ record by half a second. Sport Wellington interviewed Libby prior to her leaving and she said "It's really exciting knowing that I'll be wearing the black singlet representing New Zealand, I hope I do it proud." We think you have!

America's Cup winner, Wellingtonian Josh Junior inspired a room full of Pathway to Podium athletes last week. Having represented New Zealand at the 2016 Rio Olympics helped to prepare Josh for the pressure of his first America’s Cup campaign, dealing with the expectations, performing under pressure and remaining composed – whatever the situation! Heading off to skipper in the Extreme Sailing Series in Europe, read more about what Josh is up to here: https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/other-sports/95517620/americas-cup-winner-josh-junior-joins-nz-extreme-sailing-team
