Sport

Sport Wellington recognises the huge contribution that sport makes to the region it serves.  Sport contributes significantly to the community and engages a huge base of volunteers at both club and regional level in order to deliver sport.  Sport Wellington's role is to work with sport at all levels, providing training, development, services and advice in order to enhance the quality and delivery of sport.  We want all people associated with sport, in what ever capacity, to maximise their potential and have a rewarding and enjoyable experience.

We host network meetings for CEO's, Regional Sporting Organisations (RSO's), Coaches, Club Committees and we run a variety of workshops throughout the year.

We also produce the "Sport Connector" newsletter every three weeks which is the best way to keep up to date and we recommend every Club committee member and Regional Sports Organisation Board member receives it directly.

Doug Bracewell in the Sport Wellington-Wairarapa office runs the "Club Assist", "Sideline Supporters" and "Join a Club" programmes.

Getting people from different sports in the same room means we can share thoughts about the challenges that all sports face plus come up with solutions that individual sports may not have thought of when working in isolation.

Two of our staff are trained in the SPARC Organisational Development Tool (ODT) software.
