The traditional Maori game Ki o Rahi is a cross between touch rugby, netball and handball.  It dates back to pre European times and was originally used to train warriors for battle. I t is a game involving a range of fundamental skills – running, passing, throwing to a target, team work and strategic thinking.

In a 5 week module we will present staff and students the legend and kaupapa of Ki o Rahi, movement and strategic skills involved, how to play (the rules), opportunity to practice, and a chance to play against others.

Get Set Go is a new and exciting initiative from Athletics NZ.  It is designed for young children between ages 4-8 and helps them master the skills that will make participation in games, sport and recreation activities more enjoyable and successful.

Football In Schools is part of the NZ wide Whole of Football plan and has been developed to integrate several aspects of the National Curriculum.  The programme uses Football to cover manipulative skills as well as develop agility, spacial awareness and team work.
