Sport Wellington Community Coach of the Month
The purpose of this award is to recognise the valuable work provided by coaches at all levels in our sporting community. The award is open to all coaches.
Rules and Conditions of Entry
- Nominations to be received by 5pm on the 25th of each month. Send entries to Mike Walsh, Sport Wellington Region, PO Box 24 148 Manners St, Wellington or fax to 04) 801 8976 or by entering online.
- The winner will receive a Coaches Pack supplied by Sport Wellington Region. All nominees will be "thanked" for their services as a coach by Sport Wellington Region.
- Any coach in the Wellington Region is eligible.
- The winner will be selected by a panel of three sporting experts. Their decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

April 2007
Sport Wellington Coach of the Month for March is Raewyn Hailes, who coaches Roller Skating for the Upper Hutt Roller Skating Club. Raewyn travels to Upper Hutt from Wellington several times per week to coach several members on an individual basis, covering a skill range from beginners to international level. Raewyn is always available to assist skaters at various competitions throughout the country.
March 2007
Sport Wellington Coach of the Month for March, Sid Koia, who coaches th majority of school sports teams at Wainuiomata Primary School, Sid is also involved with Numerous sports teams in the Wainuiomata community.
February 2007
Sport Wellington Coach of the Month for February is Andrew Carr who recently coached the NZ mens underwater hockey team to victory at the world championships in England. This is his second world championship success, he has also been seconded by Turkey to conduct coaching clinics to develop the sport in that country.
January 2007
Sport Wellington Coach of the Month for January is Karla Lowrie who coaches Boccia for a group of disabled athletes every Sunday afternoon and Tuesday evenings. She has trained the group from novices to competition level. They recently competed in the Eve Rimmer Games where they competed impressively and won medals. Now they are preparing for the 2007 national competitions.
December 2006
Sport Wellington Coach of the Month for December is Ponamu Risale who coaches Volleyball for Porirua College. He was the coach of the Porirua College Junior Boys Volleyball Team that won the Wellington Secondary Schools Regionals and the North Island Junior Secondary schools 2006 championship for Division 2.
