20 years of Green Prescription!
On Monday 19 June, Dr Jonathan Coleman - Minister of Health and Minister of Sport and Recreation along with representatives from the local DHB, PHOs, Sport New Zealand, Sport Wellington and the Ministry of Health celebrated the 20th anniversary of Green Prescription.
More than 400,000 Green Prescriptions (GRx) have been given out over the last 20 years to help people get active and change their diets.
Sport Wellington is proud to deliver this programme across the greater Wellington region in partnership with the region’s District Health Boards.
We have been involved with GRx since 1998, and during this time we have supported a significant proportion of the 500,000 New Zealanders who have benefited from the programme, increasing their levels of physical activity and improving their nutrition.
