The preferred candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Sport Management, Education and/or Recreation and Leisure (or the equivalent experience).

Fraser Park Sportsville was launched in September 2009. The Fraser Park Sportsville founding clubs signed the Sportsville constitution in April 2010, signaling their commitment to the partnership. In June 2010 an independent Board was appointed to lead the new entity and in May 2011 the strategy was finalised.

FPS is seeking to appoint a new board member and is looking for someone with the following attributes.

 * Business background (commercial experience, business model understanding, successful business manager) that may be able to assist with the Facility/complex build;
* Knowledge, training or capability in one or more areas of board governance; 
   Strategic thinking/planning, Finance, Marketing, Programme management
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Managing dynamic and changing environments
* Fundraising experience and a willingness to seek entrepreneurial opportunities (Important)
* Superior organisational skills
* Sound judgement and decision making ability
* Knowledge of regional, national and world wide trends in sport
* A passion for the Lower Hutt community and a commitment to model ethical and socially responsible practices
